Quin Cowl Dress Pattern Review

🍾My friend Gracie Steel launched her first pattern! 🍾

I was honored to test this showstopper dress. The Quin Cowl is a sleek dress or top for those days when you’re actually leaving the house and want to step it up a notch. It’s a good entry to bias cut, the burrito method, and front and back cowls. I ~can’t resist~ an open back view but there’s also a more practical covered back view for those who must bra.

I’ve been following Gracie for the better part of 2021 and crushing on her makes. She is always making something iconic and glamorous, and now the rest of us can enjoy some of her glamour too.

This is the View B dress in a size C. I made it in a printed silk a friend gave me. I didn’t mean to, but the print is definitely giving the dress unanticipated Cheongsam vibes a little bit. But hey, I’m not fully opposed to that either. So debating giving it a Big Snip to be a mini dress instead, or keep it, not sure. It was my first bias cut make after I’d researched the strategy and gotten intimidated by it - and now I’m fully addicted to the way it hugs the curves- IYKYK. Size range goes up to a 48” bust.
